Witch of the Woods.

It feels like hours now since you left your father's house and walked out into the woods, hours since the sun slipped behind the orange hills in the west and the moon painted them blue again.

Something strange lives in those woods, they used to tell you when you were still young enough to believe it. A witch, they said.

You thought you saw her once. She was down by the stream with a basket of clothes, and another she was filling with flowers and herbs she picked along her way. She didn't look much like a witch to you.

Still, it must have been something magic that drew you here. Careful, they told you. She'll put a spell on you. Your feet sink gently now into the earth with each step and your hands reach out for the trees to steady yourself. She'll turn you into a witch like her, they said, but you aren't afraid.

You can see her again now, through the leaves. She's kneeling at the base of an old and dark tree. She lays down her flowers and, as you move closer, you can hear her singing. It sounds like the same song your mother once sang to you.

Witch of the Woods is a reformulation of the first fragrance I ever made, that introduced me to the magic of scent and the alchemy of perfumery.
